My issue with Madonna recently has only been exaggerated as time has gone on. Her first stuff in the 80s is of course classic and awesome but, and this is no offense to anyone, but she is too old to be doing this and have us believe her. Individually, everything is pretty good. The song is fine, props for her still being able to dance like crazy (at 56 no less), but put everything together and it feels to much like a strategy to make money. I mean, Nicki Minaj is on a green screen with everyone just randomly intercut, and it's very tweetable, and that always turns me off. It feels less genuine, artistically speaking. And this is the most disappointing thing to see a great artist do.
There was old joke I heard somewhere I now can't think of, but some woman was turning 40 on a TV show and was asked something like 'Are you going embrace growing old gracefully like Meryl Streep or are you just going to be like Madonna and cling to your youth"
Also, I have a gut feeling SOPHIE is sitting in that video somewhere in the background and I am determined to find it.

Hey guys! I've been lurking the boards for a few months, but this thread compelled me to finally join and speak a little bit. I must say I feel pretty disheartened reading some of the comments in here, I don't know why. I figured fans of a movement as divisive and thought provoking (intentionally or not) as PC Music would be more understanding of what is going on with a track and video like this and the artist performing it. The amount of ageism/sexism in here is baffling to me - but that's the point of this entire single release, and that's been Madonna's point from the moment she entered her 30s. She's pushed every button issue there is to be pushed except for the taboo of age, and she's finally doing it - and to a SOPHIE-related track, no less!
I think where people get put off, and it was mentioned a few posts ago, is that they can't tell if she's serious or not. The answer is simple: she's both. She's always been about duality and has always injected her work with a bit of humor. More often than not people are confused and don't get it. She's making music that she finds amusing for herself, and I think that's amazing. Madonna is too selfish to cater to anyone but Madonna. She's spent nearly 4 decades making music for other people, but now she just wants to have fun. Anyone who doubts that this is her genuine self should go back and check out how she was before she decided to play mother and housewife.
The comments in here are what she's trying to change. The notion that a woman has to age "gracefully" like Meryl Streep or Annie Lennox isn't fair to those who may feel differently. Not to mention the fact that all three women are so totally different from each other. They should have the right to express that without being shamed. Do you know another pop star in their 50s who can move like Madonna does? I see stars in their 20s struggle to feign an ounce of stage presence. And what major pop star before Madonna decided to work with SOPHIE? Now we have him meeting with Miley's A&R and working with Charli XCX. It's not about getting a hit at this point, or being more relevant, or making more money. She's already a top grossing female touring artist, there are still stories in the press daily about her doing the most mundane activities during her down time, and it's pretty well documented that her last few albums didn't set the charts on fire. She's trying to create a new lane women in music can go down instead of resigning themselves to cover albums and staying out of the limelight because people decided they are too old to be in their faces. There is more than one way to age.

I'm a big Madonna fan and it makes me quite happy that Bitch I'm Madonna got a single release which is imo a kinda risky choice that other popstars probably wouldn't do (or be allowed to). Also we got a video that does the song justice. Sure, there could have been a lot more glitter, alcohol and strobe lights involved but I think the end result represents the fun vibe of both the song and PC music in a decent way. It's a shame though that Sophie is neither mentioned in the video nor in articles. It would've been a great promo for him and PC music. Maybe that will come in the future. I know the song is causing some commotion, not just in the media which are constantly judging her for being too old for this shit or craving for attention, but even fans are very mixed about the song and the video. They don't get really get the intention and the fun of the song which I personally don't understand as it is more than obvious. Many fans can't agree on Madonna still evolving as an artist, pushing boundaries and trying out new things but honestly that clarifies Madonna is someone that does music not just to please the fans. It's sad but I guess with Bitch I'm Madonna it's like with PC Music: you either get it or you don't. I think where people get put off, and it was mentioned a few posts ago, is that they can't tell if she's serious or not. The answer is simple: she's both. She's always been about duality and has always injected her work with a bit of humor. More often than not people are confused and don't get it. She's spent nearly 4 decades making music for other people, but now she just wants to have fun. Anyone who doubts that this is her genuine self should go back and check out how she was before she decided to play mother and housewife. These are the most accurate words to describe Madonna as an artist. Unfortunately most people don't recognize this kind of duality.

Is Spinee in the video at 00:36 behind the police officer? Damn, wtf. I found the moment in question and though I totally see it now, I wouldn't have been able to tell it was Spinee otherwise: Does this mean there's still a chance that SOPHIE or A.G. are in there somewhere?
