Check out diveo's twitter (@diveomusic) for a bunch of clips of Sophie at nyu - looks like he's playing a bunch of new stuff. I got one of my friends at nyu to record audio so hopefully I can upload that in a couple of hours.

What's getting me upset is really not the lack of no new music (although new music would make it all better), but the fact that SOPHIE couldn't at least be like "the release date was postponed" or "the release date is now the 7th" or something. I wish he would just make a statement about the new singles' releases. He's not anonymous anymore so idk why he has to be so secretive about it.

Getting sorta annoyed with the fact that it's taking over a year to release what will probably be not even 10 minutes worth of material. I don't see myself not being interested in new Sophie material, but I really hope we can expect something soon. Hudson mohawke, Rustie, hell even Justice and SebastiAn all definitely lost some of my interest after waiting years without even a simple update. We haven't really heard anything from PC music since that easyMix either. There's just something so unsettling about when an artist or label is inactive, especially when releases get cancelled and the vague "release dates" (like summer 2015) pass by and nothing happens. That being said, Sophie is an exceptional artist and I'll probably crumble into little pieces of happiness when we finally get that next A/B, even if it's summer 2019!

I love the energy and enthusiasm here -- obviously coming from a good place -- but why not give SOPHIE the benefit of the doubt? Maybe it's beyond his control. Maybe the physical products are holding up the release of the music. Who knows. Plus, it doesn't seem to be his "style" to market himself or drum up too much hype with a coordinated marketing plan of attack. I don't know why we'd expect this of him now. Release dates are broken all the time with little to no warning from the artist themselves -- no artist owes us anything. I just keep reminding myself how much they've already given to us (PC Music, especially) and how we could at the very least show some patience in return. It's still summer technically anyway.

Let us know when you have audio, we have all been dying for material! Thanks for the post. Unrelated towards anyone: Any ideas why GFOTY deleted her twitter?

I just keep reminding myself how much they've already given to us (PC Music, especially) and how we could at the very least show some patience in return. It's still summer technically anyway. I think the other thing is how PC Music themselves were producing essentially non-stop content from the last few months of 2014 to the first couple in 2015 - they built up so much momentum and then it just stopped. Pop Cube was made out to be a huge thing, and... nothing came of it (although I'm sure it was great for the people there). They've released, like, what, 3 tracks over the summer? But all this secrecy without explanation, and in summer, which is the time perfectly matched to their music. The excuse is the Hannah Diamond and GFOTY albums, but one of them might not even happen (someone said otherwise on here tbf), and we've only seen a few selfies from the other's sessions. I'm sure it's going to be grand but it or the fact they all have managers now don't really prevent them from actually showing a sign of life every month or so like they did so perfectly in 2014 We probably take SOPHIE anonymously not releasing new music for granted (all the "Hey QT" gang amongst us would've never experienced it) but it's this and the first- and second- hand promises being broken (even something simple like Sophie saying he was going to update the site) and fan favourites being sold off to bigger names to have Vocaloid added to them for buzz, one of them setting off the media's hungry dogs by saying something stupid and deleting their twitter, that's making us pretty irritable at this stage Forgive the rant; I still love their music, it's just I want to shake them because I truly do believe they're doing it all wrong from an artist-fan relations standpoint, even though they've set their sights higher, but they know more about what's in store than I ever would

I'm not that bothered by the delayed releases compared to some of y'all, but speaking of PR strategies, what I really don't like are all the surprise SOPHIE shows that I hear about on here but are never mentioned on his twitter or anywhere. I'm sure they're probably last minute bookings, but it gives me FOMO.

The lack of PC Music releases is disappointing but understandable. The HD album will be their first proper record, so I'm sure they're trying to make it as huge as possible. I'd bet that the entire "hit making team" is working on the album in some capacity. Maybe I shouldn't get my hopes up too high like this, but I think it will blow everyone's mind when it comes out. SOPHIE though - I can make excuses about him being a perfectionist, or that he's probably busy doing a lot of producing for other artists now that he has some big connections in the music industry - but over a year without an original track, remix cancellations, delayed release dates and very little communication about any of this... it's definitely a bit frustrating as a fan. But whatever, as someone who is also a fan of Valve's Half Life series of PC games, and George RR Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series of novels, I'm extremely used to this kind of thing by now. It's like I set myself up for being perpetually disappointed ok that was a slightly weird tangent we also need to think about SOPHIE's side. maybe he didn't think it would get this big for him. he started with a persona, with nobody really knowing the deal with (at the time) her. but he got exposure, because damn he's good, and now maybe he's feeling that everyone's putting a lot of pressure into him, and delaying/canceling stuff because he doesn't want to disappoint anyone. also, it could be numbers cockblocking him. and beyond that: maybe he doesn't care and just want to have his own pace for doing whatever he wants. he's still djing, with new music, even. maybe he wants things to slow down a little bit (namie is huge in japan, LIZ got a lot of exposure and, well, there's madonna, who is, without any doubt, still madonna) before releasing his own stuff again. but i'm drunk so what do i know

I don't know. Bitch I'm Madonna, When I Rule the World, B who I want to Be, and Koi are all pretty good to great. Sure we all want new Sophie songs, but its not like he hasn't been busy.

It's like I set myself up for being perpetually disappointed ok that was a slightly weird tangent lol as another ASOIAF fan thank you for putting this in perspective. Hey, we're not getting new Sophie, but at least we're not getting some Kidz Bop version of what the new Sophie song might sound like with no promise that the new Sophie song is going to come out in the next two years. I agree with everyone else really, you don't wanna be ungrateful, but I don't know what they're thinking either. More the PC Music crew than Sophie really since he's been doing a bit of producing and he has a label and various suits to contend with. With the PC Music guys, it's all self-released so there's none of those barriers to deal with and we know they have unreleased material, so it's a purposeful choice. Theirs to make of course, just one I don't understand at all.

Would you prefer something like this (emphasis on "might" and "really soon") or just silence?
