So I'm currently at a Baauer show and he play a remix Beautiful by AG Cook. I'll post the vid soon I bet the MIA and G Dragon track sounds monstrous live omfg the crowd was wild (pretty much the whole set though). When heplayed the MIA G Dragon song the crowd was kinda lost but then the drop came and it went crazy. The AGCook song came last, I think it was the Rustie remix of Beautiful but im not sure cause it sounded different. when the beat dropped in that one, a fucking mosh pit broke out and i was literally sucked into it while i was recording for the forum lol then i tried to do it again and it failed cause i had to defend my life in the mosh pits. I was gonna upload the vids tonight but im beat, ill upload the vids whenever i wake up. I tried to record a lot, some of the clips were snapchats and most are kinda fucked up cause i was being attacked by 8 foot tall white boys (why they always need to be at the front, they know they are too big for allathat). He played some songs off the album, and some unreleased stuff that i may or may not have recorded, im not sure. He play GoGo, Sow, Make It Bang, and Temple off the album. a lot of the songs sounded like Sophie drops but i know Sophie isn't the only one doing that style of trap drop. I recommend seeing him live if you can tbh. His opening act Tunji Ige is really whack af like really whack. But we all played along anyways. Tunji's DJ opened and all he played were rock songs and trap songs. it was weird and everyone was confused. Baauer was worth the wait especially if the crowd has good energy. He kept me dancing the whole set. Even when I was trying to record. I'd say he was better than Keys N' Krates but if you want to see a performance and dance Keys N' Krates is the way to go. and their openers are way better. Baauer had a bomb set though. glad he tossed some PC Music cause i was honestly waiting for it.

Nah, this is a DJ Mustard rip-off. He was using twinkly synths like this before PC Music and SOPHIE were even a blip on the map. The only resemblances to PC are the fact that it's a pop song, and there are a few synth timbres that AG Cook happens to also use. Sorry to be curt, but I get a bit irked when people on this forum hear a twinkly sound in a standard radio pop song and are like "OMFG PC MUSIC IS EVERYWHERE NOW LOOK." AG Cook and SOPHIE didn't invent these sounds, they just happen to use them a lot. The difference is that they use them in really unusual and often jarring ways. For a song to exhibit what I would call "heavy influence from PC Music" it would need to be dialed up to 11 in some unexpected way, or a little alien, or have strange structural features...candy-coated FM synths do not a PC tune make. My impression of PC Music's influence is that it's actually quite small at present, with the potential to morph into something much larger and weirder (cf. Vroom Vroom, forthcoming HUGE CARLY collab, the Columbia deal and its as-yet-unforseeable future). Those of us who are fans have a distorted impression of its popularity and influence, because there's tons of press and a very dedicated fanbase. So we saturate our ears with the stuff and then start hearing it everywhere. Now if you wanna hear heavy PC Influence, check out Maltine Records, Activia Benz, Secret Songs, and SoundCloud producers in general. That's where the most impact seems to have been had at present. Obviously Madonna and Charli and Carly all caught wind of it during the initial press wave and heard something they liked, but I'm waiting until I hear Nicki Minaj rapping over a SOPHIE knock-off beat (or better yet an original), or maybe Justin Bieber singing a song with multiple key changes and modulations a la Huge Danny. Then we can talk about influence.

Then we can talk about influence. Lol the song actually samples the melody of "Gotta Get Through This" by Daniel Bedingfield. So there's not even a PC Music influence whatsoever. This is just another attempt at a DJ Mustard type beat. It's still a good song.

In other news people (including some musicians) still think SOPHIE is PC Music okay i feel like getting mad every time someone lumps the two together is a really dumb thing because they are very much the same concept and aesthetic, and they've collaborated extensively. I personally consider PC Music to be more of a genre than anything

But let's not go into that TBH. I think after a while when they follow the PC Music soundcloud or Twitter they'll be like "Oh" lol cause honestly back in 2013 I thoght Sophie was PC music

PC Music sorta works as a genre but the best way I've been able to describe Sophie's relationship to PC Music is that he's a member of the collective but not the label. Sorta same with Felicita and (albeit this is a lil bit more of a stretch) Kero Kero Bonito. Usually the label/collective element has 100% overlap but there's a few outliers.

So I completely forgot to take this video off private to show you guys Baauer playing the Rustie remix of Beautiful. youtu.be/KAyVq_LAg34It's just been sitting on private and I didn't even realize. The part is towards the end. I should get the mark for you guys. Edit: at the 9:45 mark Edit: that crowd was obnoxious.
