So what PC Music projects are still unidentified? I don't know if the identity behind Nu New Edition has been confirmed yet. Tielsie is still anonymous, though from what I've found online, is apparently a male producer living in Lyons who is associated with DJ Paypal and something called Tomcrew in addition to PC Music. I remember seeing some speculation on here about Life Sim being Finn Diesel, but I'm not sure what the evidence for that was, and I feel like he has more of a creative/artistic role with the label rather than musical anyway. Thy Slaughter is another case that is probably A.G., based on the similarity to Every Night, but I'm pretty sure I remember easyFun playing Bronze as part of his set at SXSW. Bronze had a very strange inclusion on Dead or Alive played by a rock band which was intriguing I wonder if the gimmick of Thy Slaughter is that they're a pseudo-metal band that makes blatant pop music but with winks to heavy metal. The name sounds like a metal band, the song explicitly references a metal, and some of the PC music guys have a background in proggy/metal-adjacent guitar music. There's definitely something cool about the idea of using metallic synths and percussion to make remake metal as pop. The band from the Halloween Special looked like AG on drums, Danny on bass since he studied classical electric bass in school, and someone else on lead guitar. In another thread Champiness was speculating that Thy Slaughter is Alex DeVille, one of AG's old school friends so maybe the guitarist is him? Also +1 for Jamonthego's interpretation of Laplander. Cool to see GFOTY (assuming it's her) showing some lyrical range beyond her usual crazy-eyes-girlfriend persona. |

G. Cook x SOPHIE x QT show last night and i realized laplander's a kinda sad vague breakup song, just like HAD 1 at least i think so "How can you say you care? Baby, you don't even know if I'm not there Baby, if your life's just a love affair Count me out" I'm pretty sure Also pretty sure that A. G. is behind Nu New Edition; he has One More Day reported on his Soundcloud and New Edition is clearly an influence on Cook thank you i wish i could transcribe pc music song lyrics but i have a hard time deciphering/understanding lyrics generally vocals are pretty much just sung melodies to me |

Nu New Edition was just an alias for i presume A.G. Cook's remix of New Edition for the LuckyMe advent thing

AG on drums, easyFun is probably the one on guitar and the bass can't be Danny (just based on height/build alone). He is pretty darn tall.

just gonna bump this thread now that Deep Trouble has utterly wormed its way into my skull
also there's something so wonderfully ambiguous about the cover art – this horrible thing has just happened and everyone's just having the swellest time in the world, it reads like fantasy or advertisement at first glance but then you notice in the corner there's the floating airplane seat among the party trash, and one kinda concerned-looking girl in the window...like you don't see any corpses, it's all very sanitized and glossy and fun, but the orange signal flare is initially very evocative of a fire. but no one seems to give a shit, even the pilots, feels kinda like late capitalism tbh
definitely a high point of the pc wave thus far. next stop: pop cube
