Not sure if any one gives a shit given the lack of replies but she did sing acapella keep me safe. The whole performance was pretty dull, not gonna lie. This is coming from a Hayden fan but it was just kind of not interesting at all. They did play the Sophie drop song but unfortunately that was the only Sophie stuff that was in it. I was hoping there would have been more than a song that was being played in 2014-15. It was just a bunch of instagram art models walking around slowly, shouting random phrases in Spanish, and then talking about oil briefly. Kind of a missed opportunity for a big gig like MoMAps1.

Given that none of the music had credits, I think it's unfair to assume that was the only SOPHIE piece. Perhaps the most recognizable, but that's a bold claim. Lol.
Moreoever, those people weren't just "Instagram art models"--at least a couple of them (if not all!) are good friends of hers. The angel with a beard is one of her exes. Bobbi (with short hair, the one who took the rope off of Hayden) has been in several of her pictures. I'm pretty sure I've seen the white angel at her other events...it was exactly what I would have expected. The Spanish piece wasn't random either, that was just the beginning of the performance! >:[ The Spanish guy and the woman he chased obviously served a purpose in the piece, and were a segway for Hayden's appearance and subsequent explanation.
I think it's really unfair of you to be so negative about the performance, especially because it was completely accurately advertised. It was a special performance by a performance artist, not a HYD or QT gig. |

I like her sculptures and her projects but I just didnt find the performance impressive. No hate- just not impressed. But go be a fan of something that could have been better. Your deal. I’d love to hear an actual explanation of what you thought the meaning of the piece was. I literally didn’t get it. But she uses parody tactics to prove her art which is in a way genius |
