Yeah they were banned. If after you explain why something is offensive, someone tries to defend racism and dehumanization of non-white people by saying "If you can't handle that, sorry life is too tough for you", I don't see any other choice. saying "you look exotic" isn't racist & you don't even know my race at all. not sure why you'd silence me because I disagreed with what you said. That doesn't seem like healthy discourse. & I've never defended racism, I said that it isn't racist by complimenting someone by saying "you look exotic" when people use that as a compliment. Sorry not sorry whats more racist & dehumanizing to you: "wow you look really exotic & pretty want to come be friend my name is ___" or "black people shouldn't vote because xyz & hitler did nothing wrong & if war broke out in the middle east, you would probably side with them wouldnt you?" One clearly isn't racist or dehumanizing in the slightest. I've actually had people be racist towards me & I know the fucking difference between something as mild & such a non-issue as "you look exotic" & ACTUAL racism, sorry that you think of them as being one and the same & can't handle dissent.

but this person here is full-on defending racism for several posts... how? edit: I also mentioned the black people I live with & said that they disagreed because @ra-ool seems to think black people are carbon copies & are all share the same thoughts with -- "Your lack of wanting to understand what people of color are saying" -- automatically assumes that all non-white people are deeply dehumanized by compliments when most that I've met(in Atlanta, the state with the largest black population & probably the wealthiest) disagree vehemently with him

Especially since a lot of the pro-black movements take place in Atlanta. You're not in the black community so you actually don't know what's happening. Don't speak on what you don't know boo. Either than that the few black people you know may be what the black community calls "coons". Or maybe their assimilating in order to avoid having to deal with negative white opinions and views towards them. Still. Don't speak on what you don't know. They literally make videos on YouTube answering these questions but you'll probably look for that one black person who says they aren't offended by racism. Lmao. Whatever I don't give a fuck anymore. You can have your lack of understanding to other places.

You can have your lack of understanding to other places. it's pretty funny how you just entirely dismiss who I am & the people i've grown up around as if it isn't true. Georgia has the most black people out of every state & I live in atlanta metro area, i don't live in areas where there's just one black uncle tom. It's sad to see that you think all black people are carbon copies & are personally attacked when someone compliments them as you do, & anyone who doesn't feel threatened by fucking compliments are obviously uncle tom's who don't care about racism. pretty sad that you actually believe that. Just because the black people in my family & friends aren't sjws who are deeply dehumanized by compliments doesn't mean that they're not apart of the black community or are uncle toms get over it

Look, person, it was already explained by actual POC in this thread that calling someone "exotic" is a microagression. The person doing it might have no malice behind it, or may lack the understanding to know why it's not okay, but that doesn't mean that, inherently, it isn't bad.
Learn to listen to people around you. I understand that it's hard to be compared to a nazi, but you have to understand where Ra-ool is coming from. Instead of fronting and continually insisting on your error, do some research, read about it, try to understand.
You said that "black people are not carbon copies of each other", so, if you believe that, why can't you understand that many black and POC take offense (rightfully) on being called "exotic"? When you call someone that, you're basically saying "you're pretty, even though you belong to a race that I don't find attractive". Besides that, most people only call POC "exotic" when they have "white" features, even though you'd never call a white person "exotic" from having POC features.
Before you argue back and offend more people, try to understand what institutionalized racism and microagressions really are.
