It's kinda just late and bland. These girls are just rehashing the same ideas and concepts every year and they all look the same anyways and have decent vocal talent. They have opportunities to take it somewhere new but they don't cause they just aren't that creative. Which is why their ideas are all end up looking the same. That's fine but Issa no from me. But Banoffee was doing this in 2013 lmao. And she's been doing different stuff than the others Does it really matter though? It wasn't that interesting then, and still isn't now. Poppy kinda makes up for it by making the videos cause the music is basic. The real only difference with Banoffee is she worked with Sophie. That's pretty much it. Nobody's saying you can't like it but it's redundant and visually just not there at all. Same strokes of blandness coming from different girls lol.

Her song with Charlotte is hilarious.

I always felt like she was on the edge. And everything except for ripe isn't even stylistically close to PC. Poppy and MUKI are directly PC tied. I don't think it's fair to group those theee together

Yeah I don't see the Poppy/PC Music connection. Poppy's first EP was very straightforward generic pop, it sounded like a bunch of Katy Perry album tracks. Her recent stuff is more glitchy and electronic, but it still doesn't sound like anything on PC Music to me. The visual aesthetic is not the same either, it's more like the tumblr sadgirl aesthetic mixed in with some cultish imagery.
People compare her to QT because they are both playing enigmatic characters. But thematically the two projects are very different. Poppy is about the vapidity of social media, QT is about commercialism and the fusion of brand/identity.
