Heard Bipp somewhere in 2013 but it didn't make a lasting impression besides "huh, that's different". Then discovered Keri Baby in the summer of 2014 while in Thailand and was blown away, had never heard anything like it, etc and became obsessed from that point onward.

First heard Lemonade, loved it and then found easyfun's laplander. It's still my favourite song ever.
Most people I've showed Hannah Diamond to say she isn't singing, just talking and that it bothers them a lot. I guess it comes down to how conservative some people are in terms of music. I still know some people who don't like synths because "they're not real instruments"🙄🙄🙄🙄 I think it's sad how much they limit themselves for literally no reason at all.

I really think why people don't like it is because the sound is polarizing. You really have to be into that glossy hyperpop 2000's revival twisted celebrity parody art student sound to truly appreciate PCM. Sorry for sounding pretensious anyway, i fully agree with jopefunk! most people today don't understand music other than top 40, which (often) follows a basic 4/4 AB format. pc music turns this on its head and creates sonically free sounds that don't follow any rules. although some have the potential to be hits (hd, ag, huge danny) more often than not pcm turns to the side of "weird", "frightening" or "noise for the sake of noise" (felicita, gfoty, lil data, etc) what really resonated with me is that upon hearing lemonade (yes thats technically not true pcm but v close), i finally was able to hear a sound that i have always been seeking. i liked hip hop, pop and dance, but all were too basic. a lot of pc artists take these genres and bend them to the point of no return. i think hearing the freedom behind some of these songs honestly scares people! however i am very grateful for most of my friends, who upon hearing HD and SOPHIE quite like the sound! <3 maybe the revolution is spreading?

Also I don't have that problem because I don't have friends. Some online friends like them, but I don't keep sending every release to them and asking what they think of it. There's this DJ guy who loves it and keeps asking me about stuff because he doesn't speak English, though.

I can actually second that. There was a huge femininity in the sound and just in the aesthetic of Sophie and Pc Music overall that attracted me to it.

Kill me but I heard from Charli 😬 Really, user "beepbeepletsride"? I'd never, in a million years, think that.

Thanks for this amazing discussion guys! Didn't think people would be replying so much! So another question, I found that by playing QT for people first really set them up for more.. what songs do you think really explain the ideas and open up the pathways in the brain to appreciate PC? Likewhat songs do you believe to have the highest amount of PC structure, but the lowest amount of demand and attention needed?
Side-note: Remember when McDonald's had their commercial for introducing lemonade to their menu and SOPHIE's Lemonade was the back track? I flipped the first time I saw it and then I just hated McDonald's more than I already do right now.

It's subtle but it gets the idea of the label across

The best way to introduce someone to PC Music as a label would be the easyMix imo, it is pretty bonkers and it has sum Ariana and Jessie J vocals soooo yeah

Super Natural, maybe. Carlegend Slay Jesuspsen will set the mood just right. Maybe the Can't Sleep Love remix, also? And Bitch I'm Madonna.

I personally think Keri Baby is quirky and fun, so, depending on the audience, could be a good choice.
