do not use transphobic slurs please and thank you, the user has been banned for a week It's not a slur and it was not used with the intention on being one. That being said: you can keep me banned. I'm tired of defending myself from false accusations.

Just FYI, "intersex" is the preferred nomenclature when talking about humans.

Just FYI, "intersex" is the preferred nomenclature when talking about humans. I did not know that. Thanks for the heads up. I wouldn't have known that if I didn't bother to come back to clear things up, but most people probably wouldn't bother doing that after being banned, and they would still have this misconception about the term. Just banning someone without trying to clear things up first is harmful to everyone involved.

In the same Wikipedia article (in a paragraph or two down), it says "The word intersex has come into preferred usage for humans, since the word ************ is considered to be misleading and stigmatizing, as well as "scientifically specious and clinically problematic"."
It's considered a slur for intersex and trans people, whether you intended it to be a slur or not. And this is not the first time you've made transphobic posts on the forum.
I saw a slur used to dehumanize intersex people and I took the action I thought would be most appropriate as this wasn't the first offense.
Because there's been a post previously in which you have called a trans user "it", it shouldn't have to be cleared up over and over again what is and what isn't transphobia. Please do your research on transphobia and transphobic slurs so in the future (this was a temporary ban), this doesn't happen again.

Please do your research on transphobia and transphobic slurs so in the future (this was a temporary ban), this doesn't happen again. I've learned about the term "hermaphrodite" in high school, where it was taught that individuals who possess two primary sexual indicators are called that. They did not call it "intersex". It's not something I see or use in my day-to-day life, and I've never seen it used as a slur. When I made the joke, it wasn't my intention to offend anyone. I literally never experienced the term being used as a slur. My previous offense (that was also because of a joke) was a misunderstanding and a "lost in translation" situation, which was resolved with Jam and I think I don't need to defend myself anymore. I wasn't trying to be offensive then and I'm not trying to be offensive now. Like I said before, I wouldn't even know that it was offensive if I hadn't bothered coming back to see what the ban was about. And like, I understand that it might cause you and other trans individuals some discomfort when you have to "teach" something to someone that they don't know about, but like, the only trans people I know are in this forum. If I had a trans person friend in real life, they'd probably let me know when I wasn't being correct and I'd try my best to know what was and wasn't right to say, but I don't, and while I'm not saying that it's your obligation in any way to teach me anything about it, it's also not something that banning without warning would correct. I'm all about learning, but how am I gonna learn if I don't know that I'm wrong? I'm sorry, again. It was a fault in communication, again. I'm not transphobic, for god's sake.

I know it's a delicate situation, but my god, where is the understanding?
