I wonder if its possible that Doss could be a part of Life Sim.. Part of Life Sim is from NY (where she is from) and there is definitely an affiliation of some sort because of The way i feel remix I definitely hear some of Doss's style in Life Sim. This is monumental information and the fact that you're a guest is leading me to believe that you might secretly be Doss

i'm guessing that Spinee is part of Life Sim, due to similarities in their synths and what sounds like her vocals on IDL. Although i'm pretty sure that life sim is two people, since if it was just spinee that would mean she has two solo projects on pc music, which wouldn't make much sense. the second half is (just guessing) probably danny or finn (easy fun) but at least we know it's not ag cook since he's listed as the collaborator on the new life sim mix. Thoughts?

yah, spinee x easyfun seems the most plausible to me as it stands. easyfun's penchant for arpeggios and catharsis, spinee's aggression and love for grime & unfashionable dance music (not that the latter doesnt apply to a lot of pc stuff, but i think it's especially prominent in spinee)

omg now I have actual confirmation that Spinee is Life Sim. first of all, on her twitter she retweeted idl and xtreme mixology. and second of all a little while ago she posted a vine of her producing a new track that is now featured in xtreme mixology. also if ti makes any difference, Finn Mactaggart (finn diesel) was hanging out with her that day. so maybe he's the second person in Life Sim???

Really doubting that Finn Diesel is involved musically. Between regularly traveling and managing PC Music, I seriously doubt that he has time to produce electronic music, especially stuff as detailed and sophisticated as Life Sim. If the project is indeed "an international community of DJs joining forces to redesign life itself" to some capacity (which it might be very well be given the LDN / NYC location), than he might have a rule with managing connections between the artists involved - but I imagine his musical input is minimal.

What if Life Sim is... everyone involved with PC Music. It's not uniform. Just the collective and whoever wants to contribute at any given time can.

Reneging my previous argument of Life Sim being just Finn Diesel because Spinee's particular style of batshit crazy sampling and sample choice is kind of all over this mix, especially the first part. Currently entertaining the notion that Life Sim is Spinee and Finn Diesel BUT Doss could also explain the NYC connection (as listed on soundcloud) if Finn D isn't involved because he's busy DJing and running shit. I doubt easyFun/Finn Keane is involved if only because arpeggios aren't quite what I would call a "signature sound?" Someone's been really hitting that point hard and I wanted to say something...I mean, Cook uses them all the time, Danny too. It's the really intricate, classically informed chord progression of the arpeggios in the Jessie J remix that puts Keane's stamp on it, to my ears. Life Sim's use of Arpeggios has been quite simple chord wise so far, nothing as musically complex as in easyFun's material. But then again, the revolving door theory is also very tempting! I believe someone posted here that the one Life Sim live set we've had involved Cook at the decks, which would make sense seeing as he's the gatekeeper of PC in general...but whether it's a duo or an open-ended collaboration, I think my question right now is no longer who, but WHAT IS LIFE SIM? Cook loves his aliases and puts together many collaborations where the precise members are left obscure...but usually the sound is distinct from project to project, or there's a particular personality like GFOTY or Hannah dominating the project (even though Cook obviously produces their stuff). I notice a starkness to the sound usually, even when it's abrasive, there's a tendency towards minimalism as well as that one plunky synth sound you hear in, say, Caladhort.

And Spinee is the vocalist of the Bugatti Life Sim remix (isn't she?), which is another piece of the puzzle. I would have guessed AG is involved in Life Sim too, but then why list him separately for xtreme mixology? Life Sim seems to be characteristically minimal, but it's hard to think of any others on the label who comply with that. I agree with dr about easyFun; his arpeggios are way more complex and less common than Life Sim

so overall i'm guessing life sim is mainly spinee and finn diesel (hence the nyc/lnd) but other producers on pc music chip in/help out sometimes, which would explain why idl is so universally played in all of their dj sets. maybe even sophie contributes idk.

I personally think that trying to figure out their identity based on who's music sounds like who's is really illogical. Normally when an artist works on a different project they don't want it to be really similar to the one before it because they're trying to cover new ground or do something different

Maybe Life Sim is just a banner title for all intragroup collaborations that don't already have a name.
