Perfect Blue is such a fantastic movie I would recommend it in a heartbeat. You might need to mentally prepare yourself for it though- pretty harrowing. Is it in Japanese it is there an English version? There's dubbed or subtitled, I would recommend dub but the sub is alright. (If I'm honest it's probably one of my favorite films of all time, so I have a bit of a vested interest in other people watching it lol.)

basically everything unizen listed. Most of the other Quentin Dupieux movies that are on Netflix and I would recommend those too. Most of them are an absurd commentary on the state of storytelling in film but Wrong Cops is absolutely pointless and I love it for that. Also Holy Motors is an amazing French art film, also about the state of storytelling in film sorta. If you liked the Wet Hot American Summer movie check out the prequel Netflix show that came out this summer, it might be even more ridiculous than the movie. Paul Thomas Anderson's weirdest movies, Punch-Drunk Love (legit amazing performance from Adam Sandler) and the Master (some people hate it but I think it's a masterpiece) are both streaming and they might be my favorite movies of his. eXistenZ is like a weirder version of the Matrix, might be better too. Since you said you wanted a kids movie, have you ever seen The Dark Crystal? It's a super-dark fantasy movie that Jim Henson made. And also Computer Chess is a very low-budget indie movie about a computer chess competition in the 80s. Very subtle humor but once you get the flow and start knowing the characters it's hilarious.

I loved The Master too, and Punch-Drunk is def a favorite. Existenz is pretty awesome and very similar to Videodrome, which is another Cronenberg, kind of like he updated it, but both are amazing. And Computer Chess is fucking hilarious!! So glad u mentioned that.

Rubber
It's pure absurdist comedy, don't think about it too much. Directed by Quentin Dupieux (Mr. Oizo), whose music appears in the film as well. Watch this and Mr. Oizo's other film, Reality. He's a really great director. Usually musicians who try to branch out into other things usually suck at them, but he's actually incredible.
