Y'all. I think Kim Kardashian does what PC Music is trying to do. The whole idea of a brand and everything. Like she has a drink called HYPE and the promo pics are so similar ti the whole QT thing. And like she posted this () on twitter of her Juicy Couture partnership and it reminds me of that OkGrl aesthetic. If someone could add picture of the HYPE drink promo pics so everyone can see, im on mobile, that'd be great!

If anything I think it was the other way around - I'm pretty sure that this promotional campaign came about after QT was introduced. Who knows how long it was being planned, though, or if it's just one of those synchronicities like Newton & Leibniz inventing calculus at the same time. That said, I love these pics and am not surprised at the similarities. PC Music's stuff often comes across as a warped-mirror version of pop culture so it's only natural that there would be some weird resemblances between the two worlds. Maybe Kanye will include a song about the energy drink on his next record!! |

Oh, I didn't realize how many of these promo pictures there were! I had only seen a couple. I like the turtleneck shots for their similarity to QT, and it's also interesting how prominent (what I assume is) Kim's wedding ring is in a lot of these, just in case you forgot about Kanye. Come to think of it, I remember seeing a video too. youtu.be/ZQNKrRoyxKYI can't imagine what they were thinking when they made this but it's kind of fascinating. Why does Kim's own dream contain that extended pan over her body and cleavage shot? Really interesting piece of pop culture/advertising. I like Kim because she seems to provoke strong reactions from people who are relating to her not so much as a person, but as a symbol. And what people think she symbolizes can be really idiosyncratic. |

And what people think she symbolizes can be really idiosyncratic. I like really love this but it is SO weird. WHen I watch Kim I always find myself questioning like how self-aware is she? It always seems like she's having so much fun and it makes you wonder how much of that might be on a slightly ironic level, like is she getting off on the weird zeitgeisty cultural implications of who she is? or is she just chilling and having fun. Almost definitely the latter but it's fun to imagine she's secretly super deep haha I also didn't realize she had made a song... honestly I'm so overwhelmed by the video and just everything like  ?? |

I don't know the specifics yet. Since it's a group thing, they're going to meet next week to decide on the topics. I won't be there, though. I think it's probably going to be about how all of her and her family's life is wildly publicized and about how their idealistic lifestyle is probably highly fabricated for the cameras. |
