I've been listening to Nadia Oh's music since she released her debut single "My Egyptian Lover" back in 2006. All her music is/was produced by Space Cowboy (who's well-known for producing some tracks for Lady Gaga's debut album). The thing is, I never cared for her second album "Colours", until I listened to it on Spotify a couple of weeks ago. I was incredibly surprised at how ahead of its time it sounds (it was released in 2010), and it's mostly inspired by ghettotech/moombahton (which was a huge thing back then), but some tracks are clearly Bubblegum Bass, or sound like a mainstream-friendly version of any PC Music track. - Amsterdam (my personal favorite, full version here (click the green button))
- Is That You (very similar to Sophie's "Lemonade")
- Colours (sounds like a bad ripoff of Blondie's "Heart of Glass" but it's still great production-wise)
So what do you think? Nadia hasn't made any new music since back then, but those tracks make you wish for a collaboration with Sophie or an A.G. Cook produced track.

Thank you for starting this thread! Colours was a revelation for me back in 2011. 'Taking Over the Dancefloor' is still Song of the Half-Decade: www.youtube.com/watch?v=bFqE_9Mw_Lc A titanic proto-bubblegum bass/moombahton lobotomized-M.I.A. short-circuited Kraftwerk masterpiece. She released several tongue in cheek b-sides around Colours at the same time that are worth a listen (No Bueno/Vampire Night/Fkn Amazing/Slapper) She's gone off the grid since 2012 (she's working as a stylist in London I think now lol) I've tweeted at PC Music's twitter account several times already begging them to get her out of retirement.

This is very very PC Music, "Colours" the song especially! That one could literally have been produced by A. G. Cook as far as I'm concerned. Thank you I always thought Farrah Abraham was quite similar too; her album My Teenage Dream Ended is a classic of proto-proto-bubblegum bass www.youtube.com/watch?v=8aqhRKU5CFM

I'm a huge fan of Nadia as well, Colours is amazing. And the few one-off songs she released after were great too, I love Slapper especially, and the video is great: youtu.be/AE4oZyp2RuUShe's on instagram as nad1aaaa as well, but she's unfortunately likely retired from making music as she's working as a model now: instagram.com/nad1aaaaSpeaking of, she released a short demo called Babylon on YouTube before the release of Colours some years ago, but quickly pulled it a few hours or so later. It's probably hopeless to find it now but I'd love to hear it if anyone happens to have it saved somehow!

Amazing. I just sent her a friend request on Instagram. Too bad there's not a single trace of her music career, but I hope she makes some new songs in the future. I'm also glad most of you enjoy what she's done, it proves that PC Music listeners are very open-minded when it comes to music. This is very very PC Music, "Colours" the song especially! It's crazy how she made a little masterpiece so effortlessly, like you can tell she didn't have a clue of what she was doing, but it sounds brilliant anyway.

Sorry for resurrecting this ancient thread, but I've been OBSESSED with Nadia's music/image/whole aesthetic for the past few days and was doing some info trawling to see if there was anything coming down the pike from her. Apparently someone asked Nadia a couple months ago how she feels about PC Music on her personal Facebook (which I won't link to), to which she responded "what is PC music did they steal my authentic 2009 sound? LOL haha jk" in classic Nadia Oh fashion. Also, apparently she's now pregnant according to posters on the Popjustice forum.
So I guess there's no dream collaboration in the works between the PC Music crew and Nadia. Oh well.
Nadia's amazing, though. Deffo (along with Uffie) the proto-Kesha and, to a lesser extent, proto-GFOTY. Wish she and Space Cowboy would come out of retirement to give us more experimental, aggressively low-brow electropop.

Well, on her Facebook profile her job's still listed as "Recording artist at Independent (sic)" so I guess there's still hope, just not with PCM.

do you guys think Nadia had a part in Lady Gaga's song Christmas Tree with Soace Cowboy? I know Soace Cowboy and Gaga had a similar relationship that Nadia did with him.

Coincidentally, I've been going through Space Cowboy's discography, and I believe (not certain given how out of place it is, but still interesting) this may be a part of it:
Like, is this not literally a Felicita track? The dude's a genius (for other thing's he's done, as well, I may go into details)

SHe kinda invented PC music with space cowboy but her vocal aesthetic is from Uffie. So everything is a copy from everything basically

What even happened to Nadia? I can’t find her on social media. Maybe she’s working at a Target somewhere, who knows
