hey y'all sorry for the late reply. have a ton of shit going on. won't be able to do the full write-up i wanted to.
basically, SOPHIE played his first college show last week at UChicago which I helped organise. He is an absolute pleasure to work with, a sweetheart, a pure professional. Didn't get to ask about the gender stuff, music releases, etc, but we 3D printed him a product inspired gift which he LOVED and we spoke at length about his design process that went into making PRODUCT's product.
huge blessing to meet SOPH again.
any like very specific questions about the experience?

lolll...that's awkward. well, he played another college show.
from my understanding the entire thing was designed by himself and he spent an obscene amount of time trying to get the texture to feel soft and yet maintain *hard. his weren't 3d printed though, so he was quite impressed by that. he really put that good old physics degree to use. a lot of it was technical jargon that kinda went over my head, but i could tell he was really enthralled by the process (and not like in the ironic way QT discusses QT).

his set was fantastic though...he played koi, friday night, get higher/hard, lemonade, and some other favourites.
a decent amount of people in the audience didn't "get" the music which is always a pity, but I'd say he did a really good job and kids lost his shit when vroom vroom came on. he played to about 1500-2000ppl

(and not like in the ironic way QT discusses QT). except despite all the "vertical shine" and "connection" jargon that you're clearly referring to, she actually had a very hands-on role in designing the beverage and very likely understands a lot more of what went into the process than she publicly discusses

I know, she did some chemical engineering if i'm not mistaken, no? There was just a distinct lack of buzzwords when SOPHIE talked about it, and a larger focus on his technical prowess.

I wonder if he tried it on himself to know if it was optimal for the intended use...

well the 3d printed product we gave was safe for consumption, so we can only hope so.

Guy I know goes to UChicago and I saw some of the SOPHIE show on his snapchat. Cool to know someone on the board helped organize it!
