thx Edit: anyway i hypothesize that it's not so much the monkeys as animals, but rather the hint is that silence and "waiting to say" are themselves the theme of the new single

I always get a strong Figurine vibe from Hannah's songs. I don't know if any of u are familiar with them, but they were a great UK synth-pop group.

Keith_Courage I haven't gotten too into Figurine but I really need to. Dntel (producer for Postal Service) was a member of it under the pseudonym James Figurine and he's one of my favorite musicians. His album Life Is Full of Possibilities is one of my all-time favorites. It's incredibly ahead of its time for 2001. In 2006 he did an album as James Figurine that's pretty good too. Fairly sure they're American tho. Dntel is at least from Southern California. Sorry about this off-topic diversion, person who complained about this thread going off topic a few posts ago.

Wow you're right they are american! I think I imported the CDs from the UK when I purchased them, so maybe thats how i got confused. I remember that James Figurine track, at the time I thought it was so odd and yet I would sing it all the time. Apologies are gifts haha such great memories. I really need to get more into Dntel, I knew that James was in The Postal Service, but after hearing that track, I have to check out that record!! I used to be obsessed with Figurine, so its cool to talk about them with someone The first time I heard Pink and Blue I was totally thinking that I was hearing and updated version of them.

As much as I love Figurine & Dntel I figured this thread needed a quick jump-start, topic-wise: Firstly, Hannah has dropped yet another tweet hinting at an impending release ("not long now I promise"), as well as retweeting a polaroid of her in the studio shooting a cover for "her new single." So get stoked!! Secondly, and this is less impending but still very exciting: Charli XCX instagrams a behind-the-scenes shot of her and Hannah during their photoshoot, with the caption: "Hannah is one of the most wonderful and talented people ever in the world. She was incredible to shoot with and hopefully we will work on some ultra amazing next level pop music too soon I'll keep u posted angels"Which makes me very, very, very, very, very stoked. Their musical styles are so different, the chemistry could be incredible!!

Ok, I finished it and this is amazing amazing amazing. Perfectly nails the ARK Music Factory and 90's pop vibes simultaneously. Love the throwback to "Every Night" with the "you know you do" line and the tiny bit of autotune when she sings the word "real" soon after. The budget on this also looks like it must have been huge - check out the credits in the description. Admittedly they're mostly for fashion & styling but STILL. This is the kind of huge production that PCM have been working towards. Also did anyone notice QT showing up on the screen in one of the chat windows? It looks like she has little icons for GFOTY, A.G., and...some other dude? AAA I still have to process this but it's definitely one of the better things I could have woken up to. Interesting that it coincides with two years of Pink and Blue being out as well! Weird that none of her official social media accounts or PC Music have acknowledged it yet though. Maybe it was released early by i-D? EDIT: Just realized that the video link is still unlisted so there's a chance that this wasn't meant to be seen yet. i-D Magazine hasn't posted about it either. How did word of it get out? Also I don't see any A.G. Cook production credits anywhere but surely he was involved in the production? EDIT 2: Also the directors behind the video Bradley & Pablo were also the directors of the QT video. I was kind of worried about the idea of PC Music surrendering control of their artistic vision but it looks like it's in good hands with someone who is capable of making their aesthetic goals come to life. Excited for the future and hoping for some album news soon
