This is so great!!! Thank you so much!! Favourite part is the information that the remaining 2 singles will be released this summer, and a compilation will be released - I think I'd die if I had to wait until 2016 and will I finally get to buy a PCM-related vinyl LP in stores?

thanks so much friopi! now I'm even more excited for the new releases. I keep thinking about which months someone would define as summer, haha.

What do you guys think he meant by: "I’m very interested in trying to access the immediacy of sound. Divorcing physical sound from its musical and cultural connotations. I really see it happening when for example you go to hear a band like Autechre play. People start screaming purely from the joy of experiencing sound… Sensory pleasure." There's an interview where he talks about this. Like, I could write a whole thinkpiece about Lemonade where I attempt to dissect all the subtle references to pop/hip-hop/club music of the past decade that Sophie is stringing together, but the thing about that song is you don't actually need any of this context to enjoy the song, or for your body to just have an instinctive, "exothermic" reaction to it. It kind of just hits you in the chest, all those weird fizzes and bass drops get crowds moving all over the world! There's a lot there for the intellect to digest, but he wants to put an emphasis on sonics that get reactions without context: pure sounds, whether enjoyable or unsettling or hilarious.

^ That is my favorite interview. The way he talks about sounds as having textures I liked a lot because I know nothing about the technical side of music production, but that kind of synaesthetic experience of sound is something I can understand and think about semi-coherently. Like, I could barely tell you whether a certain noise is a synth, a drum, whatever, but a sound being metallic, slippery, or drippy is something I can understand, imagine feeling and visualize. And since on a really basic level, sounds are all just vibrations we feel with our ears, sounds having a texture completely makes sense, especially in a club setting where you can also feel sound vibrations from the speakers in the air. When I'm dancing, this is very much how I experience music if I'm enjoying it and in the right mindset. I feel/hear the music and get images in my head, which then I try to represent through the movements of my body. And when I feel like it all matches up, it's the most purely enjoyable sensation of experiencing the same thing with multiple senses all at the same time. Not that I consciously think about these things in the moment, it's a very instinctive reaction. This is why I have to be sober for the events I'm most excited about because otherwise it interferes with this process in one way or another... Idk, this might not make sense to anyone else.
I also like this interview for the phrase "moist basement" which cracks me up for some reason lolol.

OMG you're the bomb, friopi. SOPHIE certainly seems to love the summer, doesn't he? Surely one of the releases will be Fizz, but the others are kind of up in the air. Kitty Cat seems like a distinct possibility, as does Never Say Goodbye IMO.

Thanks so much for this!
I always wanted the next 12"s to be Kittycat/Somebody Like You and Physical/Ooh but now that Physical (B Who I Want 2 B) has been given away, I'll have to come up with something new. I love this idea about the collection of the 8 tracks. I still kick myself over never buying Bipp/Elle and Lemonade/Hard.
I feel like we're getting Just Like We Never Said Goodbye, Ooh and Yloppump given that they are the three that have been registered on Ascap, plus the shoes that supposedly say Yloppump in the Sophie Summer Products 2015.
I'm feeling: 1. Bipp 2. Elle 3. Lemonade 4. Hard 5. Yloppump 6. Ooh 7. Somebody Like You or Kittycat or other? 8. Just Like We Never Said Goodbye
right now

There's a lot there for the intellect to digest, but he wants to put an emphasis on sonics that get reactions without context: pure sounds, whether enjoyable or unsettling or hilarious. Totally. It's kind of boring how a lot of dance producers are constantly following a "trend" like oh now I'm doing trap, or now Jersey club, now deep house, now 2-step, etc. It's like everyone is trying to sound the same going for that same little trend. And like you said, sophie seems to transcend this concept all together. It just sounds new and good, regardless of what the flavor of the month is. That link didn't work for me but is the one where he talks about how people should stop attempting to emulate antiquated sounds? It's been so long since electronic music has been popular and people are still referencing the snare drum or the high hat. Theres nothing wrong with that be he is one of the few people freeing sounds from their past context. Reading that was like an epiphany for me, a liberation from sonic tropes altogether. Yaaaasssss.

My guess is Fizz, Cherry Pop, and Kittycat are among the 4 plus whatever the new one is.
Also what is Yloppump and Just Like We Never Said Goodbye? Is there a boot I missed?

Just Like We Never Said Goodbye right now I am almost 100% positive that OOH is just an earlier version of BIPP with different lyrics. They are way too similar to be released on the same album.

YLOPPUMP actually makes sense, since he says that one of the releases will be a song that he hasn't been playing in his shows. Although I guess it could be one of the instrumental tracks he's been playing.

Maybe the shoes that are being released "alongside music in summer" have the names of the songs on? I don't know if they could fit all the words on but it's a possibility. They say HARD, ELLE and LEMONADE (all Numbers releases), then there's L.O. which could either be Y.L.O.P.P.U.M.P or U.V L.O.V.E, then there's two other words that I can only decipher to maybe be HEYA and VOC. I'm more than likely wrong on this but they're the only words I could make out. I hope this means we see some sort of rerelease of the first two 12"s cos I missed out on them too
