as pc music tries to make headway into mainstream success with collaborations with big stars, they have lost the main thing we love about them.
releases.

This happens every year, they lie low for a while and then release a string of releases at once. Comparatively, it's still a lot of content and it is better than waiting 3 years between albums, I suppose.
That said, I AM a little peeved at that A.G. post saying there was loads of stuff coming the past month. Literally all he could've been referring to is Number 1 Angel (big project yes, solid tape, but we knew it was coming) and ecce homo (grew on me but still not exactly PC Music), lmao. I would've expected a formal introduction to Easy FX given they have a site and anything, and some Hannah Diamond content given how held back that is. Shit does happen though, I hope it becomes clear why when anything drops

There's STILL no reference anywhere to the label's definitely-real Instagram. It probably needs a fix-up in general.

I miss the crazy wack mixes, the radio sets, the high gloss pictures, the red bull Red Bull Red Bull, the QT drinks, 1,2,3 HD, the exciting unreleased songs. I miss the old stuff

I wonder how much Finn Mctaggart's exit from PC Music impacted the flow of releases. As far as I know, he was the creative director so surely there must have been a big change behind the scenes.

I just wish it was less producing and more making solo stuff. It was so fresh and new. That's what got them recognition

Columbia have fucked up PC Music. Bottom Line. Cut and dry. i feel like that would be true but we've only seen one release with Columbia involved, that being "Broken Flowers EP". They've been extremely hands off, even when danny released "Ashes" with Spinnin' records. felicita has been consistent, and i'm sure there's a valid reason for the HD EP delay.

I miss the mixes and the SoundCloud era. I was listening to Cake Mix the other day and it truly has an essence no proper release can capture

I miss the old stuff I'm still listening to 12 Wars of Christmas and Danny's radio set for Diplo and Friends and I still get new things out of it (high or sober). Haven't even had time to get a closer listen of felicita's Post Tenebras Lux set. I actually think they release new interesting stuff quite frequently.

I like the thread title. The struggle of Pcmusic. I think their struggle is similar to the Greek myth of Icarus. They want to go higher and higher without destination, no closure. Until it inevitably just ends. It has become a cliché to say PC Music piles build-up on build-up. There's this post about how easyFun reached new musical heights with easyMix. Truly, it's like witnessing the heavens opening up, and ascending into a dreamy orange sky, as depicted on the art for this release. Their best songs make you feel like, after months in a cave, you're finally flying or at least ascending. Make Believe features artwork of a snowy mountain peak. Hannah no longer sounds like someone hammering on their keyboard but rather like Lara Croft hammering with an ice axe to make her way to the top. Get as close to the stars as you can. Five minutes into EASY THIS EASY THAT you're taking off with a jet engine, past the lightning on its cover art. In his BBC radio set, Danny transitions from Life Sim's Lightning to Eric Prydz' Opus but cuts out the boring landing to crash right into Perfume's chaotic Fake It. I mean, isn't that what Danny's "Too Close" is about, in a certain way? "Got too close, went too far. Wish I could trust a star, not to fall from the sky." Danny's father is also a musician though probably not as popular as his son. He didn't get as high. In psychoanalysis, Icarus complex describes an over-ambitious person who is fond of heights, fascinated by fire and water, narcissistic and is observed with fantastical or far-fetched imaginary cognition. I'm curious how far PC Music will go. How much more refined is Hannah going to sound? What comes after crystal clear? HOW MUCH LONGER CAN THEY TEASE WITHOUT RELEASING???
