“I guess this is chill but when the fuck is the beat gonna drop? I’m getting over this” – Dude wearing a tanktop who went to go see Cashmere Cat and had no idea what to think when Sophie played L.O.V.E
I find that through a lot of the catalog of pc music, some of their most notable releases play on the cliché build up/drop structure of edm. Tracks like snowglobe, Repeat pleasure remix (ag cook), and L.O.V.E maintain a sense of climax through the whole production, keeping the listener on the edge of their seat. The beat never ‘drops’, and instead the music toys with the listener’s sense of anticipation. The tanktop bro is eagerly waiting for the beat to drop. He is seeking to find meaning, happiness, and release once the beat drops. Instead he will find none. He has not learned to appreciate the journey that the music takes en route to its destination.
For me, the overall experience of being a pc music fan is similar to listening to one of their songs like Snow Globe. Just like the hyper indulgence of the sounds we hear from the artists, the label has been engaging, generous, catering to its fans. With awesome groundbreaking productions free to listen to on Soundcloud from the entire pc music roster. Not to mention mind-bending hour long mixes of completely original unreleased content you could not have previously imagined to exist. It’s been every fan’s wildest dreams and in some ways it’s too good to be true. Yet we desire more.
We are at a point where the pc music fan is left unsettled and confused. Hence the creation of this thread, ‘The struggle of pc music”. I have begun to empathize with the tanktop bro. No proper albums, and tons of unreleased material that we know is untouched sitting on some hard drives in London or LA. The word “soon” has been used so many times that the word has lost all meaning for me. You might hear some of these unreleased tracks live if you’re wealthy enough to fly somewhere or lucky enough for a concert to land in you’re area. But even then, there is no guarantee that the show will include your favorite bangers like Body Mop, Kitty Cat, and Fembot, which you first heard from the crappy live recordings you found on this forum.
The fan is not sure what to expect anymore and it seems that we are all left at a point of climax. Kind of like the 1:28 mark of Snow Globe.
Aren’t we all just like the tanktop bro? Anxious for a sense of release and escape from the situation we find ourselves in? Is it extreme enough we wish that we had never experienced pc music to begin with? And instead invested ourselves more in Deadmau five and Major lazer? When is Cashy cat going to go on? This is the real struggle of pc music for me

All the new releases are on the brink or maybe they're just playing new music just to have us excited.

To be honest the pc music groups ive found on fb have been somewhat annoying but this forum (read: pc music forum user @matt) is just as annoying in its own unique way ;-)
