That whole SXSW-lite thing is sorta coming true. I was actually planning on seeing a bunch non-PCM people here too when it just SOPHIE on the bill but now I know there are going to be some tough choices.

yeah I can't believe the last time I saw SOPHIE live was at at last year's Field day, and around then I saw him 3 times within that year period. It seems there haven't really been any UK shows (even London) for ages. I'm going to Field Day but I'd be much more up for seeing SOPHIE and others at a dedicated night. The Edition Hotel night with him, A.G., Hannah and Le1f was just so good, they should do another!

It is funny how lots of the PC Music crew have played at SXSW in New York in Canada multiple times but haven't really gone to places like Leeds or Liverpool or Manchester. It is a very insular metropolitan big city thing I guess. I dunno, QT at Field Day will surely be a bit rubbish? Doesn't seem like the right environment for it at all. I might be wrong but I think there'll be another 'proper' launch event for QT in London which I'll wait for. XL have the money and resources for it, and they make sure that all their projects are properly seen through. I think it's probably that there's more of a 'scene' that are into PC Mus/bubblegum bass in general in London rather than elsewhere in the country, where most club scenes are dominated by house/techno. Would love to see more acts playing outside of London, however just doesn't seem like there's enough interest in them. That being said I did see SOPHIE in a dingy little basement in Nottingham in early 2014, it was great.
