Looking for ways to make an interactive site (Like PCM's)

I'm just learning how to design websites and pages with wordpress. I want to do something that is multimedia based (visual, interactive, music, etc) like PCM's websites they have that often go along with certain releases. Any tips or good places to look for help on something like this? Let me know! Thanks!
