So I've been listening to PC Music for a while and like I know that this bubblegum pop has been a thing even before PC music. I just wanna know what's this all called and what songs would be considered bubblegum pop. Like for example, Nicki Minaj has these songs called Super Bass, Starships, Whip It, Automatic and Young Forever that are super bubbly and pop. Especially Whip It and Young Forever. So I wanna know would that be considered? So I get the early 2000's pop aesthetic, would this only include that type of music? Would like a modern pop song be too different? I also know a song by Lewis Cancut and Swick that have also dabbled in this sort of bubble bass thing. The song is called Wishes and the vocalist, Tkay Maidza, makes the song really bubbly. And it's super pop. Also I was wondering if it was possible to mix this type of music with like Jungle Terror music. Lots of questions but like I'm so confused as to what is what. I listen to way too much music to be able to keep track. If you guys want I can give a list of songs I've found that kind of cross that "bubble" type sound and you guys could tell me what's what. If anyone could help, please help

well, for starters, PCM and sound-alikes are not "bubblegum pop", but "bubblegum bass". now that that was clarified, it's not "bubblegum bass" anymore since hannah diamond, gfoty and some other members of PCM rejected the term.
so, back to your questions: no; no; yes; no; please don't.

If you're interested, there's a whole thread called Bubblegum Bass where everyone on the forum went IN and tried to sort out whether or not we call PC Music and affiliated/similar acts by that name. Although the consensus seems to be that we should NOT call it that, I believe the term was coined by a moderator on this forum, and as with most internet-fueled genre names it sort of spread from there. I think the basic idea behind the name is "bass/club music meets bubblegum pop" As for your specific question, Wikipedia says the term was coined to describe a genre of late 60's pop "with an upbeat sound contrived and marketed to appeal to pre-teens and teenagers, that may be produced in an assembly-line process, driven by producers and often using unknown singers." But however historically accurate this may be, I think it's a bit more restricted than the definition of the term most people have today. I personally have come to associate the term with radio-friendly, effortlessly enjoyable, lyrically simple, and musically pleasing popular music of whatever decade. Catchy melodies, bright, happy feels, etc. Everything from "Lollipop" by the Chordettes, all the way back in 1958, or anything by the Jackson 5, or "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" by Cyndi Lauper, all the way up to "Kiss You" by One Direction – all these could be considered Bubblegum Pop, in my opinion. Nothing too sexual or "serious," just pop at its most gratifying and immediate. Big, bright, and most importantly: catchy as all hell. The 90's was a particularly Bubblegum-y time for commercial pop (google "Max Martin"), and that's when a lot of the PC Music artists grew up so it's clearly been a big influence.

I've heard of Max Martin. Wasn't aware he had such a large influence. I'll definitely look into it.

But not as deep as pcm goes. Fox Stevenson has a song called Soda
