What kind of programs do you guys use to make music? I wanna have it a go a it again, without the pressure of someone forcing me to do a specific sound. I used to use FL Studio, but it's nice to know what more experienced musicians use. Thanks in advance

I'm fond of tracker-based UIs. SunVox is free for major desktop OSes, and available for a small fee on mobile devices. Cross platform compatibility is very good, but it does not support VSTs. Renoise is a powerful, relatively inexpensive DAW available for major desktop OSes. There is a free demo, which does not allow direct exports. I don't really know what Reaper is but I'm pretty sure it's another free DAW you might wanna look into. E: Also OpenMPT

FL Studio because I'm
But for real, FL's workflow is worlds different from other DAW's, and while you may not find it in professional studios (you'll probably find Pro Tools) it's still pretty great. A ton of professional musicians use it (Madeon, Porter Robinson, deadmau5 used it at one point). If you started off learning how to make music on FL Studio, working other DAW's might be kind of an adjustment simply because, like I said, FL is drastically unique. So whatever suits you!

I mostly use Reason, and occasionally use Ableton. I have also worked a good amount in FL.
I think Reason is a really cool program. Lack of VST's is kind of a drag but it makes you learn the built in instruments very well.
Of course you can make anything in any software. Everyone's favorite JPOP producer Yasutaka Nakata just uses a midi controller and Cubase.
