If you don't know who Justin Kuritzkes is, he's a playwright living in New York who also makes bizarre videos where he distorts his face and monologues as absurdist characters. I think he's one of the funniest people alive. His most famous video is Potion Seller, and here are some of my favorites. Since last month, he's been periodically releasing songs from an album called "Songs About My Wife" and has released four songs so far. I think he might be making the pop album of the year. The lyrics are suitably bizarre, but they're kinda subtle in a weird way. I feel like you could drop this at a club and people who aren't in on the joke would think "man this banger has some weird lyrics." - this is like james blake x gesaffelstein and it works so well - tbh I feel like this one is the weakest of the bunch so far, but it still has it's merits - horny new dad anthem of 2k16, also a huge banger - this one i think is really impressive. definitely best r&b song of the year

Nice, I'm glad he's still doing stuff because Potion Master is one of the funniest videos on YouTube. Not quite sure how I feel about this change in direction because this kind of R&B stuff isn't normally my hting but he definitely has a nice voice and some songwriting talent. Would like to see more straight up comedy stuff though

Have you ever heard of Naomi Elizabeth? She's my favorite comedian artist. I don't know how to make videos pop up on here, but here's the URL to one of them: www.youtube.com/watch?v=VqOgzdEmkJk

They both have very much the same ideas of inexplicability, of just existing on the internet with no context. I like the music of both so thanks for sharing

I feel like "Falling in Love with a Photograph" would've fit really well on Justin Bieber's most recent album. And I shit you not, "Even Though We Got a Baby" would hands down be number one on the Billboard 100 if the lyrics were changed and it were sung by Selena Gomez, let's not lie.

I seriously dont understand the recent hype around Naomi Elizabeth at all. I think that some of the ideas she's working with are interesting but the music is god-awful and her videos come off as the worst kind of art-school pretension. Good art should be about more than just the ideas behind it: there has to be soeme valuable substance too. Do people really enjoy listening to stuff like "The Topic is Ass"??

So I'm a big fan of comedy and would consider myself a funny-man to an extent. I see Naomi as a comedian artist who is making fun of those art-school pretensions. I think I'm really into her because she isn't truly an artist - she's a comedian. You should read her two books - "I Am A Hologram From The Year 2046" and "Ordinary People, Extraordinary Burritos" - because they both give a glimpse into her brain on how she feels about art and everything regarding it. I definitely believe there is valuable substance to her in the realm of comedy. However, I do understand that I am heavily invested in her, and that someone who may not know where she might - because she's never outrightly stated it - be coming from could see her as a silly white rich art school girl who can do whatever she wants without substance.

I'm also REALLY into comedians who will NEVER claim they are comedians. I don't believe she has ever commented on whether or not she would consider herself a comedian, but the people like her who play the part of an artist or musician or whatever interest me SO MUCH. I believe it's an art-form in and of itself. For example, I heavily believe that two rappers, Soulja Boy and Lil' B, DEFINITELY know what they are doing. I know more about Soulja Boy than Lil' B, but to my knowledge neither of these rappers have ever stated that they are comedians or playing the part of rappers just to make people laugh. But I wholeheartedly (but again I haven't looked much into Lil' B - and I'm sure someone could refute me easily because I'm, for the most part, ignorant on these two people) believe they are comedians who will never break their acting. And if this is true, I believe the whole thing is a commentary on actual rappers (or as a whole, actual artists) who truly believe their art is changing the world or will go down in history or that they are so important and that God literally chose them (or in Naomi's words "God sent me here to rock you"). Basically these huge serious artists with such big heads. I can see how someone could see this as totally far-fetched, but I definitely welcome people to educate me on whether you believe or not - based on evidence or not - that Naomi, Lil' B, Soulja Boy, etc. (anyone else you can think of like this) these "artists" are actually artists or comedians dressed up as artists (which is really an art form itself, but we won't get into that). God, I love this concept so much.

God, I love this concept so much. And to be honest, this is the only reason I got into PC Music. I accidentally stumbled upon Hannah Diamond and liked her music, but didn't look into the rest. This was when no one knew if any of them were real or who they were or anything. But what hooked me was when they started finally appearing from the darkness and it seemed as if these people like A.G. and Danny and whatnot were simply making this music as a comedy to actual pop music. That whole term "post-ironic pop music" - I was actually one of the people who were like "hell yeah, that's so cool" (although now apparently this community gives shit to the people who believed that, according to some of the posts I have read). I understand that A.G. and SOPHIE have both refuted that, and I have to accept that, but it doesn't change that the only reason I am here today is because I totally felt as if this entire record label was a complete joke and was just providing commentary on pop music without telling anyone so they could see how far it would go. I thought that was such a good comedy event that not even traditional comedians (stand-up, improv, obvious jokes, whatever) could garner up enough valuable substance to compete because it took people who completely understood the target (pop music) AND the predator (PC Music) opposed to just understanding a relatable joke. It wasn't necessarily a direct and outright physical "haha" moment - I wasn't sitting here actually laughing each time a song of PCMs came out - but something so long-running and intricate that the comedy almost became a legitimate art. I have no clue if I'm making sense and I know someone might read this and be like "fucking idiot" but like this is so interesting to me because this is the kind of comedy I'm into, I guess.
