So this is something I've been clutching to my chest for awhile now, hiding it deep in the recesses of iPhoto for fear of it meeting a similar fate to other live footage of SOPHIE. But it's up at last (though who knows for how long - see it while you can!). I couldn't pass up the chance to see SOPHIE in an art gallery. It took some effort to arrange, but it was definitely worth it. You can read more about it in my novel of a video description, but the show was wonderful, the music worked better live than I'd ever have expected, and I got to hear "Fizz" and make embarrassing closeups of myself mouthing along to it. I eased my moral quandaries about filming the set by keeping the attention firmly on the audience, and it's a good thing because I ran into SOPHIE at the snack bar later and I think the guilt might have vaporized me on the spot if I hadn't. As it was I got to have a brief chat with him in which I ascertained the title of "Fizz" by doing a pathetic mime of the chorus to him (though it might be "Fizzes", see video description), waxed poetic about my first 22 consecutive listens of "Bipp", and discovered the true identity of his Boiler Room doppelganger, who was apparently in the room all along (I had snapped a few pics before this revelation out of admiration for the denim-tank-top getup they were wearing). I present a record of this temporary annexation of a New York museum courtyard, and its euphoric effects upon the crowd of people occupying it, as tribute to the wonderful day it made for. Please excuse the blown-out audio, or consider it part of the larger amateur-concert-footage aesthetic if you wish.
P.S.: Sophie's wonderful in person. He has a neat voice.

Thank you! Really interesting to hear, and I appreciate you respecting the "no pictures" request. So looking forward to Fizz's release. Don't think I've heard Say GOodbye before

Glad to see it's appreciated! Just try to ignore the bits where the camera turns to me, I was emulating my annoying-concert-footage "idols". I'm pretty sure QT was supposed to do something as you can see on the chalkboard at the end, though "Hey QT" ended up just being played in the set sans miming from her. She was definitely there, though - I saw her in her signature getup through a window into the VIP section. A really neat experience having a concert in such an intimate space; I spent a lot of my time pre- and post-SOPHIE lounging in the entrance to the gallery proper, where you could see straight to the back of the DJ booth through some windows as people came and went, surrounded by a sparse collection of modern art. I have some amusing footage of a couple taking notice of this exhibit in the floor as Lone plays "2 Is 8" outside. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone in the area for next year, even if no one who merits mention on this site is on the bill. Some of you Londoners out there might've just had a similar experience, as he was on the lineup of a show at the Tate: rinse.fm/events/late-at-tate-britain/EDIT: Oh, there you go, apparently someone was there enjoying it (though with fewer qualms about filming). Discerning readers will note that this track appears in my video as well! (And apparently it's gotten a new verse since it got played on Diplo's show) He's also got footage of "Hard" that's basically the bit my video misses:

shame about that crowd you really gotta see Sophie in a space full of people who showed up to see Sophie. I saw him at Gorilla vs. Bear IV in Dallas with a bunch of more indie rock/pop fans waiting for Panda Bear then saw him again in Vancouver at his own date last month and it was way better energy. Nothing like being in a room full of people losing their shit and screaming "LE LE LEMONADE" lol also, here is a clearer video of "Never Say Goodbye" (the other videos recorded by this person are A+ as well) www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fgfo8ukD2c8

Agreed, it didn't even sound that good in person. Just rocketed up to the top of my wishlist.

I think they'd make for a viable A- and B-Side. One for dancin', one for romancin', like records back in the 80's. ("Fizz" still has the key to my heart, though)

Just notice that Numbers has apparently returned to the warpath, and my video's been removed. Hopefully most of you anticipated this and it's sitting safely on your hard drives or Mediafire accounts somewhere, if you haven't and you'd really like to see it, just send me a PM or something. Or who knows, maybe it could go on the Dropbox page. All I'm really concerned about is the fact that something he played that day is probably getting released soon!

Yeah, they took down a bunch of videos. The Just Jam set is gone, as is the Sonar performance and a couple others. This SXSW performance is going to be massive, and we're deffo going to be getting a ton of music around/after it.
