As much as I think a SOPHIE x Azealia Banks track sounds perfect (and as much as that beat seems like an ideal fit for her), it appears to just be a track by him and Jimmy Edgar called "Lipstick Facial" with the vocals from Azealia's "Fantasea" (which Machinedrum produced) over top. Though I guess at least Machinedrum agrees with me about what a great pairing they'd make...
Also as far as Google's telling me there is no original version of "Mayfair" sans Sophie.

was gonna do a post about this! from what I've gleamed from interviews and tweeting Jimmy about it a while ago, they're working on a full collaborative ep which is still in production (hopefully set for 2015) you can hear another one of these tracks in this mix at at about 1.49 in - which I think is really great There's another one in one of Jimmy's mixes (which could also just be an older SOPHIE track I guess) which I'll try find a bit later |

Jimmy Edgar personally told me in late August of 2012 that he was going to put out a Sophie release on Ultramajic. It's been a minute though- who knows what the plan is.

Really good interview. I really like when SOPHIE mentions one monophonic morphing voice. I totally hear that in the verse of lemonade where it is just a huge synth and the vocals, no straightforward percussion. That moment has always really struck me as a huge success in SOPHIE's music. |
