I was just wondering, do you think we'll get studio releases from Sam (SOPHIE) this summer/fall? I know 2014 and last year there were releases from July - November. Is it possible that we'll get anything during that timeframe? I know at his live events and DJ sets he's been slowly churning out new content, such as "Ha!" and "Burn Rubber", which might mean that a new album / single is in the works? idk...

I think that even if we somehow don't receive any new SOPHIE directly, there will be plenty of tracks produced by him on Charli xcx's new record which is supposed to happen this summer. Personally, I can't wait to see if she actually releases that killer fun rendition of give me your love from SXSW!

Not to dash any hopes, because this is just my observations and not fact, but I'm doubtful for this summer; considering how long it took him to put out the Numbers singles, without a contract we know of it might be an even longer wait. I think he will be focusing on productions for other people for the time being, such as whatever's still in store with Charli XCX.

Does anyone know when his contract with numbers was up? Because I know that most music industry contacts have a period of time where the artist can't release music after the contract is up/cancelled.

1.Where did you find this? 2. This definitely isn't the original version of Burn Rubber or if it is, it's an extremely early demo. 3. Are you sure it's not just a Jimmy Edgar remix of Burn Rubber? Only some synths from the original are the same and others are added. The synth line in the top is even different (in one note actually). It sounds like a very good recreation except the vocal samples are EXACTLY the same and the synth that comes in about halfway through is the same as the original.

Or a Jimmy Edgar edit. Bc weirdly enough, the first 32 seconds are completely different synths but with almost the same melody and then at 32 seconds in, the actual irl instrumental to Burn Rubber plays layered over that opening thing So I reripped it bc the end was cut off from the rip posted here and here it is: soundcloud.com/dvnots-backup/sophie-jimmy-edgar-burn-rubber-edit

I'm guessing Burn Rubber is actually one of the Jimmy Edgar collabs, which mean we could be getting it soon along with their other collabs! How do u think it will be released? An EP, a mixtape, idek.

someone asked jimmy on twitter "hey Jimmy, you're credited in Burn Rubber with SOPHIE on machinedrum's new mix, any plans to release the full song?"
he answered: "maybe ☺️"
