He followed me back on tumblr and I just about died. His perfect exceeder remix was my favorite thing on Ponibbi's incredible mix from a couple months back. His beats and drops are so staccato, they really feel of a piece with Pretty Green and stuff like that. Unicorn Kid did a minimix a couple years ago with some similar hardstyle and dubstep tunes

i quite like his music altho it's p derivative
but i cannot get behind it cos of all the bullshit anonymity/"artist"/pretending to write like a 3 year old shtick
all the obscurantism in pc music is pretty considered (most of the time, some self-indulgent gfoty bullshit etc not included), but this is just ridiculously gimmicky and i think betrays a sincere lack of ideas lol

^ yep. what's more depressing is this same shit's going on even within the pc music label imo. i mean, there's some serious fucking talent in there, but there's also some people who aren't very musical and aren't very creative that are just riding that wave off the backs of their talented mates and are down with all the fashion bullshit

A lot of it is starting to sound the same. I guess this happens with a lot of trends. A few good artists > massive following > clones > overexposure. I understand making a track in a certain style, but just having your whole aesthetic be copying someone else is silly imo. I review in pitchfork the other day said something along the lines of "PC music and their imitators....". :/ |
