You're amazing.
Also, the one titled "Sophie Unreleased Song" is the last part of Bodymop and the track I call Lightning

You're amazing. Also, the one titled "Sophie Unreleased Song" is the last part of Bodymop and the track I call Lightning I wasn't sure whether to go with the board names for the songs or not. In the end I decided not to cause I figure people can rename them on their own, but I couldn't help with silverware cause 1. it's so fitting and 2. I found a good pic for it on Google Images (well, technically YLOPPUMP is still a fan name, since we don't know if that's the track or not... would be kinda funny if it ends up being something else completely)

Holy shit thank you, I live for lo-quality previews of the most exciting music the future has in store. Totally batshit crazy about "Silverware" and great call on the track art!
Also I live for these dudes talking in the background during YLOPPUMP, "do you know what salvia is?!?!" lololol

I split the MSMSMSM track/Hard bit since I wanted to listen to it separately soundcloud.com/ignatzhello/sophie-msmsmsm-hard-live-at-nyuI wasn't sure whether to go with the board names for the songs or not. Oh I know. But I don't know if thats the song since it's hard to tell what they voice is even saying. That's what I meant.

YLOPPUMP (if that is your real name) is my favorite since Hard. So much tension in it, controlled so well. Hope to God for a release.

This one made me think of that interview from a while back where he said "the undersides of gargantuan suspended vessels being lit by motorway floodlights expanding" When I was listening to it I got an image of car headlights flashing on the girders of a highway overpass and submerged floodlights beaming out of a pool of dark water at night. It conjured up very strong associations with cars in general for me. All of these felt very dark. Also lmao at the random dialogue. I hope my concert conversations don't appear on tape anywhere, and if they do I hope I never find them.

It was printed in the Travel Almanac, sgz was kind enough to take pictures. Probably my favorite interview with SOPHIE so far. For convenience's sake, I summed them into a pdf which you may download here.

Thank you for the info! I had read that interview when it was posted, but I didn't remember that quote! I always feel that music and sound can be hard to translate into descriptive words (which is another reason why I feel genre categorization is useless) but 'undersides of gargantuan suspended vessels being lit by motorway floodlights expanding' is very evocative.

I listened to the same song again and this time I thought about an industrial assembly line with lots of robotic arms moving in unison. And then listening to the rest of the live clips had me thinking about the book/movie Under The Skin (which has a brilliant soundtrack by Mica Levi). youtu.be/NoSWbyvdhHw
