Is it just me, or do the "female" vocals in chorus of Koi sound like the same "person" who sings in Fizz? They sound VERY similar especially between the "If that's what you wanna do" (Fizz) and "That's the way that it goes" (Koi) sectons.....

just in case anyone wants it: play.spotify.com/album/70SoTo4t69Dg1bbnUOBDYu So the vocals: I like LE1F a lot outside of this, and I think his studios are better than lives only because he's more relaxed and for song as sexual as this, it works so much better for me. I've lost count of the number of times I've screamed "I'm hotter than a hot spring, hotter than Bikram yoga" with the live versions (full disclosure, I'm gay, I eat this stuff up). The only thing I'm not sold on is that secondary voice "I'm sorry that I'm not sorry" but even on the second play it's growing on me. But hearing the actual sounds SOPHIE made in real high quality is SO REFRESHING UGH. i'm gay too and i'm like I NEED TO MEMORIZE THIS STUFF AND USE IT IN REAL LIFE like "you got whack game, like lolz, oh my god / you should go away / abracadabra / princess kitana / kamekameha" As another gay guy, basically the entirety of the third verse/bridge (I think you need some practice shutting your mouth) needs to be permanently embedded into my mind so I can use it.

I love everything about this song and video but my favorite part is that I can now make out the words clearly when he says "swag seminar" HA

I'm gay too. I am so happy this is released finally. The only thing I'm not too happy with is the female vocal. In the demo/bootleg/live versions it was a more "robotic" or auto-tuned kind of voice with a much more quantized rhythmic delivery that I enjoyed when layered with Le1f's more relaxed vocals. Also I dearly miss Le1f's "Why?!" he would sing after "You keep throwin' these lines out." during the live recordings I have (it would have appeared at 2:43 in the released song). But yeah, I doubt SOPHIE had much say with the final mixing/recording of the released version. Someone was talking about this earlier in the thread but just as an example you can go to Discogs.com and look up Namie Amuro's _Genic to see that "Vocal Production" was handled by Hirofumi Iwanaga and Wataru Sasaki, that's not even including a whole separate credit for someone who produced and wrote the Hatsune Miku lyrics. Not to mention that whole album was mixed by someone named "D.O.I." So SOPHIE probably meets and collaborates with the artists and then hands them off the track, and then it gets mixed and maybe have more production added to it by a whole other team of people. That's why songs will especially sound different going from the versions SOPHIE plays live to the recorded versions because the versions SOPHIE plays are probably a couple of generations older than what gets released. The biggest heartbreak of a song changing for me is during Liz's 'When I Rule The World' I loved when the chorus had no percussion! The synths used were percussive enough and it would send chills down my spine because it just sounded so unique and interesting and when the percussion was added in during that section on the recorded version it lost a lot of what is so interesting and exciting about SOPHIE's productions. He's always doing the unexpected, and when you add the drums back into the chorus it just sounds more "Radio-friendly" and a bit predictable. Okay, that post became crazy long. Sorry!

I just say the "WHY?" myself whenever I listen to the song. It's incredibly fun and the timing is unique every time

yeah, uhm, i prefer the new female vocals. maybe because i'm only listening to this version now, but they seem to fit better. also, the "why" is indeed amazing and should have stayed.

i liked the juxtaposition of the cutesy female vocals with le1f's rapping in that live version but it still sounds good by itself, also i'm just hyped coz we finally have a new sophie release and a new le1f track all in one! also the video is so great i love love love it, the dancers, the fashion and the animated stuff all incredible
