Does anyone know where I can download "Body Mop" by Le1f? Unless you're gonna be satisfied with a low-quality YouTube riff from one of SOPHIE's sets, then unfortunately we're all waiting just as anxiously as you Which I don't think will ever be released. The other day Le1f was kinda upset that people only payed attention to the Sophie produced track off his album only and not anything else off the album. But who knows he might release it as a way to get more attention to his music or he might not let it happen because people are ignoring his other works for his one song with Sophie.

Let's not get upset at Le1f over something he could hypothetically do
Anyway, Koi took at least 2 years to come out, so I wouldn't give up hope on Bodymop. Plus I never intepreted his frustrations as putting down his old work or Sophie so much as very well founded criticisms on racism in the industry

But who knows he might release it as a way to get more attention to his music or he might not let it happen because people are ignoring his other works for his one song with Sophie. I love all (well, most) of Le1f's music and I love Le1f himself, but it's kinda ridiculous that he wouldn't expect the lead single from his album to be the most popular track. Also, I'm sure plenty of fans of SOPHIE also became fans of Le1f after Koi came out and they checked out his other work. I understand that there are plenty of people that only listen to Koi off of the album and don't listen to his other work, and it's not cool if they haven't checked out any of his other work. But him choosing not to release another collaboration because of that is really ridiculous, and he's very smart so I don't think that will happen. He also seems to be working on an album/mixtape called Banshee so maybe it will be on that? I definitely see it on Banshee cause Banshee is supposed to be more like gay (lol couldn't find anything else to describe what he said) or SOPHIE might release the song on his own release. The agitation probably comes from like racist shit and like how people go to his shows and only know Wut or Koi or Boom. And they are like hella dead throughout his whole set except for those songs. It's kinda like when you go to your favorite artists show and everyone gets hype for that one song that everyone knows but the rest of the show is dead and you're like one of the few that know more songs by the artist. And also like the few blogs that write about his music only focus on Koi and then give the album an okay rating. It's less about Sophie and more about us the listeners and stuff. But I guess that's like the black gay rap struggle he's going through.

But I guess that's like the black gay rap struggle he's going through. Yeah I definitely didn't take his frustration as being toward SOPHIE. He's experienced so much racism and homophobia in his career and his life, and it has to be awful when people downplay his role in his music and when people don't appreciate his (incredible) lyrics. The people that just like grooving to the beats of the singles without listening to the deeper messages behind a lot of his album tracks and even some of his singles.

I like Le1f's music but this isn't even the first time I've seen him act weirdly petty towards a producer... whatever. Usually people wait until they have an actual hit to do the 'stop loving me for my hits' thing.

(EDIT: the " ?" was an eye emoji, but this forum disagrees)

(EDIT: the " ?" was an eye emoji, but this forum disagrees) That's exactly how he feels. His next few tweets after show the frustration. He's saying he could spend another 20k for to work with our white cis male and make a catchy song but he doesn't want to because he has more value than that. And it doesn't matter if he does anyways cause the gay community won't support his music anyways. That's what he's saying. He's just annoyed with it. He's annoyed that there are gays that don't even stay for his shows. Especially white gays. They'll come and here what they need to hear then leave. Which is why he says thanks to the black people that stay for his shows. Honestly what you're all witnessing is the black artist break down. Like I totally feel this cause I'm black and gay like him so I understand first hand what it's like to have to work a trillion times harder just to be heard or even recognized. I've seen Mykki Blanco, Dev Hynes, Cakes Da Killa, Azealia Banks, Nicki Minaj and more recent black artists talk about this and how they work extra hard and still don't get the recognition they deserve. This heavily confirms Body Mop will never ever ever come out. I don't think it's about Sophie cause he probably would love to work with Sophie but he knows that if he does, that it will overshadow all of his art with more meaning than just playful things.

dude needs to chill out and quit making a mountain out of a molehill, jesus... please do not undermine his struggle. he can release or not release whatever the fuck he wants, and while me as well as many others on this forum would love to hear body mop, it's his career not ours

dude needs to chill out and quit making a mountain out of a molehill, jesus... Being black and gay and in the music industry is a very hard struggle. Don't try to undermine it. You should respect it and if you don't understand then don't comment

boy oh boy i've triggered some people here.....
i don't care what he releases and what he doesn't release, consider it the last i'll say on the matter. clearly i "don't get" his "struggle"
edit: oh yeah and for the record, i wasn't trying to undermine what he goes through for being black and gay in the industry....
