Since I was 15-16 I became an indiepop/twee/c86/shoegaze/post-punk fan, also 80s music and that like New Order and the ones below ( quite obscure). i also like 70s/80s disco, some jazz (Carmen McRae, Billie Holiday, mr. Monk , Chet Baker and stuff) , a lot of bossa-nova (my fav one is Desafinado and Lugar Común) , Spanish late 60s pop and Catalan Rumba, late 60s California sunshine pop like Roger Nichols and the small circle of friends or Paul Williams, happy hardcore, rrriot girls bands (Bikini Kill , Cub, Bratmobile & Le Tigre mostly) , punk pop, punk rock like The Clash or The Ramones, j-pop and indie j-pop like Hideki Kaji, The Aprils, Pizzicato Five, 800 Cherries and that stuff, etc . found some PC-adjacent deep house that might be of interest.... www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZNgKZMRpsMlol @ the top comment "And people think PC Music is new" ... obviously the commenter meant that as an insult but I can see the similarities (in a good way)

have you guys heard the JLin album? it's incredible. i feel like she's kinda like the footwork equivalent of SOPHIE (completely synthesized sounds aside from vocal samples, etc.) www.youtube.com/watch?v=cRSVtuU4rkw

I'm going to do this in two parts, because I love talking about artists and music.
PC Music is my favourite music + GFOTY is probably my favourite person on Earth, but I am going to shy away from talking about all PC (GFOTY, Hannah, A.G., Danny, easyFun, Spinee) and Other BB (SOPHIE, QT, Ponibbi) and related-ish people (Sign Offline, everything on Manicure, Activia Benz and Secret Songs)
Lana Del Rey I can't put my love for her into words. I still always put Lana first. I love her and her music speaks to me greatly. Discovered: August 2011 Most famous song: Sadly, the Cedric Gervais remix of "Summertime Sadness" Favourite song: Without a doubt, still "Video Games" - the song I fell in love with. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cE6wxDqdOV0)
Charli XCX I think Charli XCX is the artist I have invested most of my time and money in as I have known Charli for a long time and I am a Charli XCX collector. I still have the original copies of her 2008 EPs, some of my most prized possessions. Charli used to tweet me before she got famous and I had the pleasure of meeting her in March. Discovered: June 2011 Most famous song: "Boom Clap", and featuring on "Fancy". Favourite song: "Nuclear Seasons" - brilliant electropop (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TGmM2l39LEs)
Marina and the Diamonds Marina and the Diamonds is the first out of my three favourites that I discovered. Her debut album, along with "Lungs" by F+TM were the two albums that started to stray me further and further away from chart pop music. Her second and third albums definitely delivered just as well. Discovered: January 2010 Most famous song: "Primadonna". Favourite song: Ever is "Teen Idle" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZNE-7DyLJ5w) however I'm also linking the lead single "Froot" from her latest album because I love it so much. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BI_0HIz_4JY)
Years & Years Years & Years are an amazing group and their music makes me so happy. I'm so excited for their debut album in June because their music is consistent and of such a high standard. I'm excited for them for the future. Discovered: August 2014 Most famous song: "King". Favourite song: "Take Shelter" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z0atZQSUE80)
FKA twigs FKA twigs excites me so much as an artist because she's so talented and creative, and she's benefited so much from working with Arca and Jesse Kanda as they fit very well together. "LP1" is one of the best albums of recent times. Discovered: September 2013 Most famous song: "Two Weeks". Favourite song: "Give Up" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fYCCiXrbwq0) and "Glass & Patron" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cNbFc-fa-ww)
I'll update with the second part tomorrow. <3

Some great gems tucked in there flawless other choices in there too.

("Damn You", "Dangerous Girl", "Put The Radio On", "Never Let Me Go", the whole of her Lana Del Ray album is very dear to me). Some fans seem to be irritated that she's possibly re-recording unreleased material for Honeymoon (she's added "Serial Killer", "You Can Be The Boss", "Us Against The World" to her tour) but the thought of re-recorded unreleased excited me a lot.

I'm usually more of a singles person in that I only listen to one or two tracks from a given artist. The rare exceptions where I actually have the entire album are kind of random. The Shins, Crystal Fighters and Miike Snow are three sentimental favorites I come back to again and again. But they're not really representative of my taste as a whole, which leans towards house, electronic in general, and pop. I really like to dance and anything danceable is OK by me. In college I was always that person taking over the aux cord with an entire party playlist. Random picks of 2010-2012 are Fare Soldi, RAC, STS9, TEED, Royksopp, Bird Peterson, and We Sink. In 2013 I was most excited about Wave Racer, Kastle and Cashmere Cat. Right now I'm almost exclusively listening to PC Music & similar artists except in my chillest moments. I used to find a lot of music on the tammyszu YouTube channel if that means anything to anyone. Before that I got a lot of music from Chemical Jump which was (is?) an electro house blog. These days I usually just poke around SoundCloud.
Edited to add favorite (non-PCM) live shows I've been to recently: Goldroom, Flume, STRFKR and Jack Beats. Sadly this year I wasn't able to see nearly as many shows as I would like though.

Part 2 of 2 <3
Tinashe Tinashe is one of the newest of my favourite artists. I knew who she was during her mixtape eras but I only really started to listen when she released the masterpiece “2 On”. She’s an amazing singer and I haven’t disliked anything she’s done. Discovered: November 2013 Most famous song: “2 On”. Favourite song: Probably “2 On” still (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-s7TCuCpB5c) but “The Storm” is an interlude from her album that I’m absolutely obsessed with (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-XbxbN_aJ4)
Melanie Martinez Possibly the most artistic person to ever come out of a television talent show. Even on The Voice she had brilliant artistic integrity (her covers were to die for). Her EP is four very strong tracks and I can’t wait for her album. Discovered: September 2012 Most famous song: “Dollhouse”. Favourite song: “Carousel” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zAB5AC9yhY0)
Adore Delano The other best person to come out of a TV talent show. I love Adore dearly, she’s close to my heart. Her album was record-breaking and so strong. She makes me laugh and I’ve loved her to pieces for a long time. Discovered: February 2008 (Danny), December 2013 (Adore) Most famous song: “I Adore U” Favourite song: “My Address is Hollywood” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=df-fSHlK0rM) and “I Look F**kin Cool” with Alaska (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YMiROBF2NXo)
Sky Ferreira I don’t really have much to say about Sky – she’s a great personality and a really talented performer. I haven’t met Sky but she really kindly sent me a huge signed poster once. Her album is brilliant and I can’t wait for Masochism. Discovered: August 2012 Most famous song: “Everything is Embarrassing” Favourite song: I love “Everything is Embarrassing” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rEamE0MYPkg) but I’m going with “24 Hours” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FSCZerzrUmo)
Beyoncé and Madonna I can’t really say much about these two because everyone knows who they are. They’re brilliant talented people and I love their music. Discovered: From a very young age? Most famous song: Their entire careers? Favourite song: My favourite ever Bey and Madge songs are “Countdown” and “Hung Up” but I’ll recently go with “***Flawless” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IyuUWOnS9BY) and I’d be lying if I didn’t say “Bitch I’m Madonna” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6W0NSSLGDMY) but Rebel Heart is an insanely good album (even if it’s 25 tracks long)

These are the the types of acts I listen to, too. Surprised you're the first one to mention most of them– I was expecting a lot more people to be into future bass and dofflin. For me I would add: - Jersey Club guys like Hoodboi and R3ll
- Rap! Yung Lean, producers like Metro Boomin and DJ Mustard
- Skrillex
- Wave Racer
- Cashmere Cat & Lido
- everyone on in the Moving Castle collective

Does anyone listen to Dempagumi.inc? Some pretty consistently exciting JPOP with some over the top production that really follows thru (in my opinion...) www.youtube.com/watch?v=QddDPHoJOyAAlso, any JPOP suggestions that aren't Nakata outputs would be great to hear. I love Nakata, but am already familiar.

Really digging this new Jacques Greene that was dropped in his radio 1 mix a few weeks back: So, what have you guys been listening to recently, or are there any singles/albums that you guys are looking forward too? I mean we all have pretty similar tastes in music so we could all find some hidden gems from one another For me i've been revisiting the latest Taylor Mcferrin (listened back to his boiler room which was simply awesome too) & Lone albums which were both really great works of art. Can't wait to hear the re-mastering of Lone's Lemurian too.
