Two of my favorite artists decided to go on a North American tour together (Purity Ring and HANA) so I'm gonna beg my dad to let me go.

I went! Some really really great stuff there this year who'd you see! day 1 i saw Horse Meat Disco, Alvvays, Tennis, Melody's Echo Chamber, RTJ, FlyLo, Jon Hopkins (which was the best performance of the festival/potentially the whole year), and Kanye day 2 i saw Girlpool, Lower Dens, UMO, Solange, D'Angelo, and twigs Woah holy fuck sorry for taking so long to respond! We had a fair amount of crossover day one, I saw DJ Dodger Stadium, Joyce Manor, Melody's Echo Chamber, a little bit of the Drums, a little bit of RTJ but I wasn't feeling it (I like them usually but the performance wasn't doing anything for me) so I went over to Shlohmo, caught the end of FlyLo, then Jon Hopkins (with you on it being potentially best show of the weekend), and then of course Kanye Day 2: Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Spiritualized, Battles, HEALTH, hopped between Death Grips, Nicolas Jaar, and Belle and Sebastian (should have gone to Solange I realized), then D'angelo. I wasn't feeling so good so I left early, super bummed that I missed twigs. Oh and also man that new opn is a banger. Can't wait for G.O.D.

You guys have lots of different taste. I think my taste is the most sporadic though.
Nicki Minaj, Azealia Banks, Lana Del Rey, Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Carly Rae Jepsen (Recently cause her new album is a pop bop), Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato (on and off), Justin Bieber (only on pop type songs), LIZ, SZA, FKA Twigs, Beyoncé, Hilary Duff, Steve Aoki, Dillon Francis (honestly he's hilarious), PC Music (generally), Cakes Da Killa, SAINT., Le1f, Fetty Wap, Future, Justine Skye, Vic Mensa, $WAGGOTT, Melanie Martinez, Diplo, Tïesto (sometimes), Afrojack, honestly I dabble in all of edm's subgenres like chill trap, jungle terror, future house, etc. lately I've been digging MNEK and Zara Larsson's new song called Never Forget You. I'm a big fan of MNEK. Umm Disclosure, Kelis (who does all genres), I've listened to some heavy metal bands like Issues and Sleeping With Sirens and Pierce The Veil. Jamie xx new album is good. Troye Sivan is good. Tkay Maidza is cool. She has a 33 min mix with unreleased songs and I so wish she'd release them. I'm a big Zedd fan, I find lots of songs on soundcloud and it gets really hard to keep track cause I download so muc and like so many sounds. Ellie Goulding, Dj Fresh. Idk it's a whole bunch of shit.
I feel like now we have access to so much music to not be spending hours on soundcloud and YouTube discovering new shit and old shit that's new to us.
My soundclouds are JayySonata and AVDEN (for my original work)

omg... would it be too much to hope for a A. G. cameo on Garden of Delete??? i think it's unlikely that will happen but it would be pretty awesome indeed Honestly I think there's a slight possibility that there G.O.D. could be PCM influenced to small degree, or, at the very least, that there are parallels between the two. OPN is a known fan of PCM and plus he said he originally wanted the album to "paint some troubled pictures of pop music" which is kinda an inverse of PCM but, even so, he could still use a similar type of aesthetic and treatment of pop sounds as PCM to achieve an opposite end. I Bite Through It is quite a different direction for OPN and, although saying this may be a bit of stretch, I feel like IBTI has some elements and hints of PCM in it (many sudden beat switches and builds, XTREME MIXOLOGY type harshness contrasted with moments of tenderness - closest comparison to this in PCM would be Wannabe (?), synth design in some bits, and in general the entire song sounds like it was produced using soft synths on a computer, more so than even R Plus Seven stuff). Even though OPN has used most of these elements before (which a lot of other producers often use as well), they feel much more overt and PCMish on this track. But at the same time it might be more accurate to say that PCM is more influenced by OPN than he is by PCM. AG posted his Needle Exchange mix and Returnal or Replica (I think) on the Thy Slaughter forum a while back and, with that in mind, PCM could be seen as taking parts of what OPN was doing and using the parts within a more poppy context and now pop just happens to be the natural direction OPN is taking. Sorry for the incoherence and everything but just wanted to get my thoughts out on the internet.

I think "Sticky Drama" actually reminds some PC Music-y elements.

The OPN/PC Music comparisons are really interesting. The Ford & Lopatin album Channel Pressure, 0PN is Lopatin, I think is a precursor to a lot of PCM's sound. They used to record under Games, but were facing a lawsuit from The Game or something like that and had to change their name, which I think unfortunately lead to a lot of fans not knowing the album was released. The album has a mixture of ambient and pop songs, and does a lot of the repurposing of pop sounds and meditations on consumerism/internet culture that PCM does in a semi-similar matter. The most obvious 0PN influence in PCM (aside from Bubs, of course) is A.G.'s remix of Repeat Pleasure, but there's definitely other little touches throughout their whole catalogue that could be directly 0PN influenced. Haven't heard G.O.D. yet but I'll definitely check out the leak. I think a reciprocal influencing is definitely happening tho. Also, if you liked Channel Pressure, check out Autre Ne Veut's Anxiety, which Ford & Lopatin had a hand in producing.

Disclosure's new album leaked and it's really good for those who are fond of this kind of genre.
